The center panel of the DDJ-400 is a 2-channel mixer with a built-in soundcard. Each channel features a trim, a 3-band EQ, a two-way Sound Color filter (HP/LP), and a level fader. The Pioneer DDJ-400 is bus powered and ships with a USB cable. Includes rekordbox dj's tutorial feature.
If you have a Pioneer DJ Controller with Colour FX (like the DDJ-RX, DDJ-1000, DDJ-RZX or XDJ-RX2) with Pioneer DJ Software, then you can reassign the Colour FX buttons with your own personal choices of effects. In this video we show you how to reassign or map the Colour FX to your own user preferences, and even show you how you can have a different effect assigned to each of the Colour FX controls.

The Gold Limited-Edition DDJ-400-N's buttons and knobs are arranged in the same way as those on Serato's professional NXS2 set-up. Develop your skills using an interface similar to that of their club-standard player. Enhance your mixes with Sound Color FX and Beat FX, featuring curves taken from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer. Although the DDJ-400 is more portable than its larger siblings, it still enjoys the same familiar club-style layout you'd find on Pioneer's flagship controllers, media players and mixers. Everything is exactly where it should be, from the onboard Beat FX to the looping controls to the 3-band EQ knobs. By lowering the buffer size setting, the latency (the period from when the DDJ-400 is operated until the sound is output) can be shortened. If there are interruptions in the sound, increase the buffer size, but note that this makes the latency longer. Set the buffer size to the minimum value at which no interruptions in the sound occur. DDJ 400 & Rekordbox Features Like 'Color FX' I've had my DDJ 400 for almost a year now and I love this little controller. I know the bigger and more expensive controllers (and CDJs) have a lot more capabilities and features built-in, but I'm curious what else the DDJ 400 can do even though the hardware is limiting.
