To be able to work with your databases in PhpStorm, you should define them as data sources. Data sources provide the basis for SQL coding assistance and code validation.
Laravel Homestead is an official, pre-packaged Vagrant box that provides you a wonderful development environment without requiring you to install PHP, HHVM, a web server, and any other server software on your local machine.
Select View | Tool Windows | Database
, click on the +
button and choose Data Source | MySQL
:
Use the following settings:
Host: 127.0.0.1
Database: your-database-name
(default is homestead
)
User: homestead
Password: secret
The last step is authentication:
Proxy Host: 192.168.10.10
(You can find this in ~/.homestead/Homestead.yaml
)
Proxy User: vagrant
Auth Type: Key pair (OpenSSH)
Private key file: /path/to/.ssh/id_rsa
(In my case: /Users/hansott/.ssh/id_rsa
)
You can do this by creating a stub file (kind of PHP equivalent of the extension - all constants/fields/methods are declared but method/functions bodies are empty) - all classes that are already supported by PhpStorm are done in this way. create a file (or use existing one) where you going to have your class defined (for example: redis.php). REDIS VS MEMCACHE VS APCU Redis and memcache are more or less interchangeable. Redis → Symfony. PhpStorm as diff tool in Sourcetree. I’am using JetBrain toolbox and this is the config I made for Sourcetree to do diff operations on → Development. PhpStorm is also available as a snap package. If you’re on Ubuntu 16.04 or later, you can install PhpStorm from the command line. Sudo snap install phpstorm -classic. I am using PHPUnit through PhpStorm with a remote interpreter from docker. The Container is run through docker-compose. Xdebug works through the browser. In docker-php-ext-xdebug.ini, I have all the mandatory options, and I can see in the CLI Interpreter Config that PhpStorm does load this config. To use PHPStorm's built in xdebug support to enable breakpoints and other useful debug tools, you'll want to add your Lando server to PHPStorm. In PHPStorm, open your preferences (cmd+x on Mac) Under 'Languages & Frameworks' 'PHP' select 'Servers' Add a new server using the plus icon; Name the server userfrosting.lndo.site.
