OS X El Capitan Security Updates

MacOS El Capitan no longer supported by Apple In keeping with Apple's release cycle, macOS 10.11 El Capitan is no longer receiving security updates as of August 2018. El Capitan was replaced by Sierra 10.12, High Sierra 10.13 and the current release, macOS 10.14 Mojave. MacOS Big Sur elevates the most advanced desktop operating system in the world to a new level of power and beauty. Experience Mac to the fullest with a refined new design. Enjoy the biggest Safari update ever. Discover new features for Maps and Messages. And get even more transparency around your privacy. I recently upgraded from 10.10 Yosemite to 10.11 El Capitan. I'm now on 10.11.6 and have installed all available updates in the app store. However, my Safari version is still 9.1.3. Safari 10 and 11 are compatible with El Capitan - but the app store doesn't push them to me, and I can't find a direct download link after alot of searching around.

The security update is a highly recommended update, suggested by Apple for all Mac computers running OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), 10.11 (El Capitan), and 10.12 (Sierra). Additional resources: Download. Security on older systems is not as huge a deal on El Capitan and up becoming obsolete, although Safari is not being updated. Use Firefox or Chrome while they are El Capitan compatible for better security on El Capitan. Malwarebytes is compatible El Capitan, and so is Avast. You can remove Malwarebytes while not in using using Piriform Cleaner.
